Howley Engineering is the sole UK agent for the special products manufactured by C.M.D. in France.

C.M.D. have origins dating back to 1901 and André Citroen (the 'C' in C.M.D.) was the pioneer of the Double Helical Gear which is still depicted by the CHEVRON on the Citroen cars. C.M.D., as one of the foremost manufacturers of heavy gears and gearboxes, is recognised worldwide for its quality and innovation.

Gear Rings	Own Steel Foundry at Guerigny Factory, 39 Tonnes liquid metal. Maximum Turning Diameter: 11 metres, Module 50. CAD design and thermal imaging. Own heat treatment furnace. Only factory dedicated solely to the manufacture of large gear rings.
Pinions	Manufactured complete at the Cambrai Factory. All teeth are finished profile ground.
Jumborex	Special split torque units. Power up to 6000kW. Weight of unit to 120 tonnes.
Rollerex	Planetary or Bevel Helical Drive for Vertical Roller Mills. Various other special product gears and reducers.
Bogiflex and Haflex	Flexible type reducers used on low speed high torque applications.
Wormgear Units	Standard range of units and also special worm gears to 1.6m centres.
Couplings	Standard range of grid type and gear type couplings.
